My first ever bike fit, so I didn't know what to expect, but I would say it was an amazing experience thanks to Mat. Mat made the experience relaxed all the while being professional.A few questions to start off with, then it was on the bike just to see where I was at. Mat answered all the questions I had clearly, so I understood the reason why certain changes were being made. Got onto the bike and started making slight changes to see how I felt riding and got to a point where I was far more comfortable than when I came in.We then got into doing some balance exercises. Mat made it clear that my balance and stability off the bike is just as important on the bike.Mat measured my feet and was advised to get better fitting cycling shoes, which will be my next purchase. Being a size 8 in shoes is not the same size 8 in cycling shoes 🤦🏾‍♂️. Mat also repositioned and changed my cleats, giving me more float.The report was way more than I expected. It was comprehensively written and included all the measurements, photos, and videos from the bike fit, along with all the suggested changes.I'm still adjusting to the ride position and trying to stop the bad habits I have managed to pick up, but I'm far better positioned on my bike since the bike fit with Mat.I highly recommend Foundation Bike Fit to anyone. Do not think that because you're an amateur cyclist, you don't need a professional bike fit. It's for amateur cyclists, too. Help prevent injury and be more comfortable on your bike, and in turn, cycling will be way more enjoyable. Getting a proper bike fit can save you so much more money and prevent you from spending money on a bike and then having to spend more money on components because your bike doesn't fit.100% recommended

I bought my first road bike and decided to get a bike fit in order to ensure it was all set up correctly and to learn the basics from a professional. My bike fit was with Mat and he was incredible. I’ve been riding for about 8 years and this is my first proper bike fit and it was fantastic! Mat was brilliant and so thorough identifying things that I had not even considered! Comfort and fatigue were key areas to look at for me and the changes proposed have made such a difference. My second visit to Wei at Foundation Fit and my first at the Velodrome. Fantastic professional experience and well worth it. Did whole bike fit and shoes and have to say the results are great. I recently had a bike fit with Mat, and the experience was outstanding. I had countless questions about my body position and how it affects my performance, and he patiently answered each one, giving me a clearer understanding of how my body interacts with the bike. I really appreciated his attention to detail, patience and professionalism.The bike fit report exceeded my expectations - it was comprehensive and meticulously written, including all the necessary measurements, suggested component changes, and links to exercises that will help improve my power and endurance. I left with a much better awareness of what I need to work on.I also decided to invest in G8 insoles prior to the session, and while they’re not a total game changer, they’ve definitely improved the connection between my feet and the bike by providing better arch support. It was a worthwhile addition.I’m still adjusting to my new position, but I’m already sitting more square on the bike and my upper body feels noticeably more relaxed. While I’m yet to see the long term impact, I’m very happy with the progress so far.Overall, this experience was miles ahead of a previous bike fit I had with another reputable fitter. The difference in attention to detail and results is like night and day. I highly recommend Foundation Bike Fit to anyone serious about cycling or dealing with discomfort on the bike.

This review has been along time coming. Just over a year ago I broke my left foot. The recovery wasn’t fast and my day to day life with 2 small kids and physical job wasn’t letting me get rest either. When I was finally aloud to jump back on the bike after around 12-14 weeks off it was like starting all over again. I started doing small rides (20-30km) and was fine, managed a few big rides (100-150km) that’s where I had issues. Anything over a hour and my feet and knees were ruined. I finally gave in and booked in with Wei and team. We had a detailed chat about why we are here and what’s happening. On & off the bike while we played with wedges, cleats and a few other bits. The whole Wei was very detailed in why and what we are trying. Once happy out in the sun I went for some laps round the velo park. Leaving with a massive smile and no more pain. Wei followed up with more than just a email with measurements. It was very detailed and with strengthening exercises as well. These guys go above and beyond to help you and their knowledge amazing. 6 months later and I have had very comfortable time on bike and no more numb feet. Thanks again guys

Having ridden a bike for many a year I thought I had it nailed. However, as I have had a few more aches and pains I went for the full blown fit with Mat. Well it was quite clear that I didn’t know as much as I thought I did. Mat went from bottom to top understanding what was happening to me when I was riding my bike. He took videos of all this and explained to me what was going on and why I had these problems. The next step was to sit me on the jig and make changes to my position, posture, saddle position, cranks and bars. I found it amazing that my output went up for no apparent extra effort. We investigated different saddles and tried many until I could feel comfortable, efficient and confident. I have some personal homework to do to make some physical improvements. The adjustments to the bike were made and now I am excited to get out on the roads and see how this feels. An absolute must, get booked in!Before spending out on a new bike, build into the budget a visit to these guys first.Often overlooked as it isn't a physical item but (as a coach myself) you will get more performance benefits from a comprehensive bike fit than spending the extra on your bike.As well as having the knowledge they are also super friendly and welcoming, definitely recommend.

This was the best experience! SO much more than I anticipated. Thoroughly worthwhile...just wish I'd done this years ago!! Had a road and TT bike fit in one session. I was recommended to have a bike fit by a colleague and I decided to give Foundation Fit a try, as they are local to me. I have had two bike fits by them to-date, and I have received an outstanding service all around on both occasions.The first bike fit was in August 2023 to fit a bike that I had already purchased based on the ‘recommended’ size online following a Cycle2Work purchase. Sadly, several months after my bike fit, that bike frame got damaged in an accident, so I was in the market for another one. Initially, I was just going to buy another bike to get fitted. I emailed Wei on the brand/model and he recommended against it with several reasons which he had picked out from comparing that bike to my previous bike fit. So, I took his advice in getting a bike fit done FIRST - in May 2024.Also, if I had followed the bike brands’ size measurements online, I’d be going for a size (or two) bigger than my bike fit analysis. This is because online size recommendations are generic on height only and don’t cater for things like your leg/torso height ratio, which did get picked up in my bike fits.Matt fitted me on both occasions. He was really friendly, welcoming and chilled. I sat down with Matt and we discussed the reason for my bike fit (triathlons), and we started to chat about my health and history of exercise and injuries. I could see his cogs turning in how he’d tailor the bike fit to me, and I noticed he paid careful attention to a few things I had mentioned. The fits can take at least a couple of hours depending on which you go for but honestly, that time flies. There is so much knowledge I picked up from Matt (and Wei on my second fit) about posture, positioning, good and bad habits and how to be effective and comfortable when I cycle. So much, that now I analyse others on their form and what they could improve.On my second fit, Matt remembered me and had already kitted their bike fitting bike to the dimensions of my first bike fit, and we went through every measurement again. He had even put the saddle I had purchased last year on it too to really bring back the original bike fit in its entirety. Matt was really patient throughout the fit. I never felt rushed or under pressure to give my opinion on my comfort of each measurement, including the saddle, and cleat positioning.After both bike fits, I was emailed a Fit Folder which contained images/videos of before-during-after the bike fit. It also included diagrams of my required dimensions on the bike which is mine to refer to on future bikes forever.Following my second bike fit, Matt and Wei identified a couple of brands/models which would be perfect for me. Foundation Fit are independent bike fitters so you’re sure to get an objective and independent view. I purchased the bike and brought it to Matt who fitted it out based on the bike fit. I was able to test it out on the open track at the velodrome and I felt more comfortable and faster than my first bike. This was a great post-sale service.I have had a few follow-up questions which I felt would be best sent to Foundation Fit. I emailed queries to Wei including discussions about TT bikes. He has been receptive and provided detailed responses to my queries – and all of that was post-service.If you’re after a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere filled with great experience, honest advice and lots of patience to get you at your best on your bike (or future bike) – you don’t need to look any further than Foundation Fit. However, I would recommend you approach them BEFORE you buy a bike! Don’t prioritise getting a fancy bike – prioritise getting one which your body will be comfortable on, which in turn will give you a far better performance on the road.Matt and Wei, thank you so much for all of your work – please keep up the excellent service. I went for the New Bike Fit. It was an experience I would repeat if I got a new bike and I will go back if I need a new pair of cycling shoes. It is a tiring day both mentally and physically, you are pedaling a lot of the time. Really felt at ease and chatting to Matt and Ed was like I was with old friends.So, what was so good about the Bike Fit. I learnt loads on the day, I got to see my road position in various setups; different crank lengths, different stem lengths, different bar lengths, different saddle height, different bar heights, etc. Matt described it well, it is like going to the Opticians and trying different lenses and finding out if it is better with the lens, better without or about the same. As the Bike Position is fine tuned, you can feel a difference and Matt with his expert musical ear can hear the difference too.The Fit starts off with your body, e.g. flexibility, movement. Cleat position is checked then moves onto the Bike. I learnt a lot about shoes, for example I had two pairs of size 42 shoes yet one pair was much longer so I need to look for shoe length and not the size in future. But I will no longer buy online, I will go to a Shop or Foundation to buy a shoe having checked it for fit before I buy.I now have shims fitted to my right foot and I now pedal so much more smoothly. Would never have spotted that without a Bike Fit.There is a wealth of data in the Bike Fit Report and it also provides example bikes on the market that will be a good fit for your body/position. The data in the Report will allow me to understand the key distances between contact points in the future when looking at new bikes and/or when adjusting my static setup and current bike.So was it worth the fee? Absolutely. Foundation do not sell bikes, they have no conflict of interest and are totally independent. I was after a Titanium bike and the model I wanted to buy having done a demo ride was actually a poor fit for me, partly due to the Infinity Saddle I use. I need a slacker Seat Tube angle. Would a Bike Fit at a Store which sells bikes come to the same conclusion and lose the sale?I had expected Foundation to tell me the Bike Frame size of the model I needed and the Stem Length/Angle. Turns out I need shorter Cranks and shorter handlebar width as well. Buying a Bike and finding this out later would have cost me far more than the cost of the Bike Fit.It is disappointing that the bike I wanted is not an optimum fit, but I could still proceed knowing that and knowing that specific components being fitted will work albeit limiting future adjustments if required. It is all about making an informed purchase, and I am well equipped to do that now after the Bike Fit.I decided having read the Bike Fit Report to approach one of the Titanium Bike Companies mentioned in the Report which actually can build a customised Frame Geometry to get an idea of cost, Foundation even provided a mock-up Frame Geometry based on that Companies Titanium Endurance Bike.Customer Service and After Sales Support is exceptional. Matt told me that before I do proceed with a purchase to check with him first so he can check it out on the CAD system to ensure it checks out. And once I have made my Bike purchase, Foundation will do a final fit on it to make sure it is setup according to their CAD drawing and one can ride it around the Velodrome track outside to check it out.With Bikes costing so much these days a Bike Fit is essential. I will end up with the right bike for me avoiding me unnecessary grief and expense finding solutions to the stock bike setup or worse finding out I need a different frame to meet my individual requirements.I have already benefitted on my current bike due to the shims and I have ordered a shorter stem (cheap and easy change) that will make the ride more comfortable.

I found Foundation Bike Fit as I wanted to improve my aero position on my existing Giant Propel bike. Whilst it was comfortable for my sportive riding, I had recently taken up sprint and olympic distance triathlon and my original bike fit needed an update.They were extremely thorough and they found the bike did not ideally fit my long leg, short torso geometry and limited hip flexibility. My cleat position was moved backwards and they changed the crank length and saddle. Frustratingly, the Propel model also could not have tri bars mounted, as the only kit suitable were Giant's and they were out of stock everywhere!After a bit of thought, I contacted Wei and booked another fit to get guidance on what tri bike I could buy that would fit my geometry. He was very patient as someone new to bike language and specs. He provided three options, and kindly responded to my emails and questions, from others around me, and excitingly a new bike was chosen.I have had the bike set up by Ev and Wei only 12 days ago, and just completed my first Olympic distance race on it at the weekend. Whilst my bike power pedals did not function on the day (due to a software update), the ride was comfortable, I felt strong and stable and I have just qualified for the Olympic distance Age Group World Championships 2025.I would highly recommend Wei and his team to anyone looking to get improvements in their existing bike set up and guidance when purchasing a new bike. They have a wealth of knowledge, explain things really well, respond to emails quickly, and are brilliantly located at the Velo Park so you can try the bike on the track. They also have Ev in the workshop for all mechanical work. Thanks guys and see you for an update in the future!

Can’t fault foundation. They’re really attentive, give you all the time you need and are only interested in finding the right bike and fit for you. I left the first fit with all the knowledge of how a bike should fit (turns out I didn’t know much) and the follow up report has been amazing for improving my strength and stability on the bike and also gave me all the information to buy exactly the bike I need and set it up perfectly.When I got the bike I used the drawing to set the bike up exactly as we ended the session. This meant the follow up session was super straightforward and focused as I’d spent a fair amount of time riding the right bike with the right setup before seeing foundation for the follow up. So the time was spent fine tuning rather than getting the bike setup as drawn and then not having spent any time riding in the new and improved position.Have heard stories of other bike fits and would recommend foundation 100%. The investment is without doubt worth it.

After I bought a bike I thought about a bike fit session from time to time. And it took me 4 (four) years before I booked one. I think it was a mistake that I did not do it earlier. I recommend everyone go to a bike fit session to avoid building wrong riding habits.Mat and the team are incredible professionals who gave me tons of advices and increased my bike knowledge.We updated a lot of technical parts from cleats to handlebar, but even more important we updated a few details in my position as well.

As a newbie cyclist suffering from chronic neck and lower back pain, I can honestly say there is no better investment than a bike fit session with Wei at Foundation. I had my first session shortly after I bought my bike to get an understanding of the potential level of comfort and make sure the bike and parts were right for me. Went back for a follow-up 3 months later to fine tune a few things with a focus on posture adjustment. Wei is a good guy, super knowledgable and patient.

Wonder experience as usual with Wei and the team. This time was a 2 year follow-up / update session. Very much enjoyed the relaxed consultative and iterative process and it’s also fun and informative at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised and the nature of the changes made we landed on having the improvement it did and I’m now trying it out - so far so good. Highly recommend Foundation Bike Fit for their knowledge and approach and super having Frequency Cycleworks in the same facility.

I went for a "pre-purchase fit" where they were able to recommend be a bike based on fit and my own budget.

I had a fantastic experience with Foundation Fit!Wei and the team have such deep knowledge in their space and were able were able to communicate it thoroughly. I came for a saddle fitting session - Wei diligently inspected my position and then we explored the range of saddles, and honed into the one that felt best. I left with a much greater awareness of my fit, as well as feeling much more comfortable on the bike.I only regret not going to see them sooner - highly recommend!

So much more than just a saddle fit, Mat really went into body biomechanics and potential improvements to the riding position as a whole (cleat position, stack height etc.)Got my current setup mirrored on their bike rig and then had my position optimised whilst riding - it really helped feeling how every change impacted how riding felt. Once getting to a point that we felt was a good setup on the rig, it was a real shock to get back on my bike and feel how much less comfortable it was.Finding a good saddle has previously been a bit of a trial and error nightmare, but was made really simple by Mat's knowledge and advice. I think the first saddle I tried was the winner, but was great to be able to rule out a lot of others.Also enjoyed being able to test outside on the velo park.Thank you!

I can only recommend Wei and Matthew for their services. I came meeting Wei and Matthew knowing very little about bikes and ended up being impressed by their professionalism and their help on the fit and after the fit. I am also one of those customers that bought the wrong bike for me and ended up swapping my bike for another one. Matt and Wei went above and beyond to find me a new bike and adjust it to my size which I really appreciated. Since the fit (Nov-23), my power output has increased, my recovery is better, and I just feel more confident on the bike. I just finished my first 70.3 Triathlon under 6h with a personal record on the cycling bit at 2h50... So thank you Matthew and Wei for making me faster on the bike and for the top notch services over the last few months.

If there were more than 5 stars I would give them that. I had a great experience with Matt, Wei and Ev. Easy location to get to with all the facilities to try things out with flexible times fitting around work hours. I mainly run so preparing for the Ride100 they gave me so much helpful, reliable advice and guided me with gear suggestions and other people to check out. I feel so much more confident and prepared for the ride now.Starting with a standard bike fit Matt took the time to help me with all my questions, let me test out a new saddle and optimised my position on the bike to make sure I'm comfortable for the hours ahead of me. Mentioning that I also wanted to get some cleats he provided great suggestions for where to go and which ones to buy, which came in very useful when the shop assistant couldn't advise me.Wei then fitted the cleats and made sure my position was still ideal, checking that the cleats hadn't changed anything. He also spotted the nuanced detail with my pedalling form which explains some long term niggles I've been having!Finally Ev did a great job doing a light service on my bike. The best money I have spent recently by far! I have been looking at buying a new bike for nearly a year now and have looked at new, used and everything in between. After having my fit this weekend, I am so glad I did it this way round first, nearly everything I had my eye on, although fully loaded was simply the wrong set-up and I would have been spending £000's on the wrong bike. The experience was also enjoyable, like having a cuppa midway through your bike ride, chatted through everything in detail with Wei to start with, and great to have all medical/injury considerations also factored in. Nothing felt rushed, 4 hours flew by and I have now received a great report, geometry spec/layout to ensure I get the right bike, several possible bike suggestions also included to fit differing budgets and with continued support to ensure the new purchase is correct. I’ve been racing long course triathlon for about 5 years but I’ve been riding bikes for much longer. The performance fit at Foundation Bike Fit is by far the most thorough process I have been through. I have finally found my position for long distance races. Everything down to the smallest detail is covered, explained, tested (on the jig) then implemented. The 4 hours flies past, the chat with the team is super interesting and engaging throughout. They have a load of experience and it shows. Really comfortable environment in the belly of the Velodrome, which is very cool! Highly recommended.

I had a bike fit with Mat yesterday and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone considering it. Mat was really friendly and walked me through the whole thing so that I could understand each of the steps he was taking, and I came out of the bike fit with a lot more knowledge as well as much better fitting bike! The fit also included a folder full of the pictures and videos taken through the process, which are really useful to see the effect of the changes made.

Absolutely awesome service.Recommended by Maj from H&K Cycle club.Spoke to Wei who walked me through the options.I was suffering from severe back pain following a change of bike, so I opted for the 4 hour injury prevention bike fit, 4 hours flew by.Apart from the copious coffee, snacks and drinks and free parking… the actual time with Mat and the team was awesome.Started with checking my position on the bike, then looking at my height, my feet, their length and how I squat and what good looks like on the bike. Mat then took video of me before moving me onto the Rig which is so worth it, connected to Zwift you can see I real time the changes you make to position and the impact on power.We elected to raise my handle bars, change my seat and crank… 4 months later I am cracking out centuries with ease, from Jan 29th to 31st I rode 3 centuries back to back I Saudi Arabia, competing 5 centuries that month.This week I had my follow up fit and had my cleat positions adjusted for my new shoes and bike.If you are serious about cycling pain free long term this is a must. The price is excellent value for money.

A visit to Foundation Bike Fit (FBF) made all the difference.Even though FBF came highly recommended by a friend and cycling teammate, I made every excuse to delay taking the plunge. Particularly because my previous experience of a bike fit through a well-known brand didn’t make much of a difference. I left still having to do a lot guesswork and it wasn’t working. I realised that I needed professional bike help and finally made a booking. I wanted to stop guessing and get things right.Thankfully, Wei at FBF made the bike fit simple to understand. He asked all the right questions; tweaked a little; tested; tweaked again and tested, until we got close to perfect fit as possible. It sounds easy, and it is, when you’ve got someone who knows what they’re doing to help you get there.My cycling is now at another level. So much so, I feel positively different. I had a two-part “fit before you buy” with Mat at Foundation, and I couldn’t recommend the service more. Buy a new bike with peace of mind by having a pre-purchase fit, after which Mat will mock up a CAD design and suggest bikes that work with your unique body geometry, and then a follow-up session once you have the new bike. Mat and Wei’s passion for this stuff is palpable—who else has a bike-fit podcast! Thanks guys.

As an enthusiastic, but definitely not pro, 46 year old cyclist I had put off getting a bike fit until I finally figured I needed to start looking after myself. The whole process was really enjoyable and Mat was a great and very patient guide! I have come away from it with a ton of insight and really practical information. For me it meant some adjustments to cleats, saddle height etc new handle bars and some insoles. No pressure to buy anything, just good advice and the revelation that I need to work on my posture on the bike as much as anything else! I’d happily book a follow up session in a month or two to see where I’m at with adapting to the fit.

I've been in the cycling industry for many decades, but have only now "allowed" myself to start a new (bike) project build from the right end—starting with fitting-before-buying. Wei and Matt are encyclopedias of cycling, but more importantly gurus of bodies extending into bikes. Also, their saddle library and a variety of options one can have a go on, is eye watering... The number of saddles I tested, which I had never before been able to do so, is exciting... I'm looking forward to next steps in the process.

Excellent! Had a basic fit yesterday, and every aspect so far has been superb: from the website and booking system, pre-fit questionnaire and the fit itself of course. I'm now in the real world "testing" phase of the fit, so I might be still figuring stuff out as I get the miles in, but I left the studio feeling a lot more confident in my position and the changes we made.The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, Matt is thorough, great at communicating and really good at explaining every step in detail and asking the right questions to get you thinking and to get the feedback he needs from you. Really helpful to have high quality video to see the differences in real time as well.Nice to have the option to test a saddle by essentially purchasing it as a deposit, so you can bring it back and swap for something else if it turns out not working out for you. Also good to find out that returning for a fit, even if on a different bike is discounted — as I was already thinking of coming back with my road bike before we were even done.100% recommended. If you're on the fence: get off it and book in at Foundation, you won't regret it.

Matt is extremely thorough and patiently goes through each aspect of the riding position providing plenty of tips on how to improve performance. The format balances science with sensibility - each change is checked to see what works. Its not cheap but understandably as there's a lot of time and tech involved, and the report sent following the fit is so useful, with CAD drawings showing measurements that can used to reset, and transposed to other bikes, recommendations (I have wide feet and struggle to find the right shoes) the ability to try out different saddles from 100's (golddust... if you've been riding on a saddle that doesn't suit your pelvis get this checked out to prevent future saddle soreness ) and tips for improving muscle strength and flexibility. Should have done this years ago. Highly recommend.

An amazing experience! Some context….I went with my existing aero bike with 175mm cranks, 120mm stem and 40cm bar width. I’ve also got no residual injuries or had any significant concerns. I’m also planning to build a Climbing bike so I wanted some advice with that too…..3.5 hours later I left with a tonne of great info and small changes that have made a significant difference.1. Improved cleat position, now on 2% float cleats, more for my preferred riding goals2. Adjusted saddle position, now my feet stay parallel through the pedal stroke and I’m closer to the hoods, improved posture and arm position.3. 165mm crack lengths feel amazing!4. 42cm bars were my preference for my new bike with 110mm stem5. Some focus on strength and conditioning exercises based on my body typeLastly the simple equation is this….have these changes made much difference to the feel of riding, honestly, it’s transformed it to the extent that I’m now not considering a new bike. I feel I’m putting out more power for less effort.It’s the best investment you can make if you’re paying £2-3K or above for a bike IMHO

Just did my second fit with Foundation. The first was great and it was time to do another to build on what was already a strong platform. This time with Mat. He totally understood my explanation of where I thought there might be room for adjustment 5 years on and was able to explain the issues and solve them quickly. There and then. Went riding today and felt great, like my body could do more things. Hardly ever ride in the drops and today it was easy and I felt strong. All the body parts doing what they're meant to. A few adjustments made a big difference. And these were translated to my Tri bike. I also really enjoyed it. I really wish I'd done this two years earlier. From a couple of rides already my patellar tendonitis is not getting aggravated, my upper hamstring tightness is gone, no numbness you know where, and I'm in a more comfortable position in general.I went with the injury prevention fit, where Wei spent the entire 4 hours assessing what was causing my various niggles and tweaking my bike fit, patiently running thorough loads of different options & positions to see what works best.I came out with an adjusted saddle height, adjusted saddle angle, a better saddle with pressure relief, a new & longer stem, adjusted cleats and a break levers that are easier to reach.An added bonus was what I learned from this all, and Wei talking me through everything we were doing and why.

The guys at Foundation bike fit were to put it simply… Amazing! I am an older rider, with some ailments and I’m working to get myself back in shape for some long distance rides n 2024. From the beginning Mat made me feel right at home, listened to what I wanted to do, what was hurting etc and debunked some myths along the way. I left there with my bike adjusted, power increased ALOT, and better understanding of how certain tweaks to the bike can help or hurt my style of riding. The amount of data they give you is amazing and I would say everything they say on their website is 100% accurate. I am no Pro cyclist but boy did they made me feel like one. They are not their to up sell you things, which is what I appreciated the most, they simply want to get you comfortable on your bike to meet your goals. A+ service!

I went to see the team at Foundation Bike Fit as I’m having a Spoon Custom bike made and Wei was recommended as the best person to dial me in for a custom geometry bike.Firstly, the setting is so cool, I was a bit early so went to sit up in the velodrome and watch people whizz round. The studio itself is in the guts of the building, where all the athletes would’ve walked which really nice.I did my bike with Matt, who was really affable and welcoming. We had a really good chat about bikes and then onto bits about me before the fit itself.I had the new bike fit, and began with the bike fit details of my existing bike as a starting point before dialling myself into the new bike. It was great to feel listened to and to have my current situation taken into consideration.The fit was really detailed, trying a number of positions which really highlighted difference a small change could make.I can’t wait for the bike to come and then to go back to make sure I’m set up correctly!

Definitely recommend if you are racing, planning any long distance rides or are in any sort of pain on the bike. My session was with Mat , very friendly and knowledgeable person. I mainly came to get my bike set up as efficient as possible for Ironman. I also let Mat know the pain I was experiencing in my back and neck. Mat gave me a detailed explanation as to why I was in pain. He also gave me a lot of insight into triathlon racing. A bike fit at Foundation Bike Fit is a must for any person keen to improve significantly his/her riding experience and more generally take cycling to next level. I had a really enjoyable time with Matt for a Fit Before you Buy session, during which Matt will not only explain essentials of bike mechanics/racing but also how your body type/position impacts your overall performance on a bike and how minor mechanical adjustments can yield and unlock higher performance and comfort on the bike. Matt is super knowledgeable and really a bike genius. A MUST do in anticipation of any bike purchase or for any bike enthusiasts. Absolutely fantastic team, combining science and individual feedback to get to your right riding position. They also helped me do a cost benefit analysis of going all out today on a new shiny toy vs getting best bang for buck taking onto account my 2-3 year goals. I learned a few things too. The atmosphere is super relaxed yet professional and focused on the best outcome for the individual. The versatility in recommendation is great as they can give you feedback on triathlon, MTB, road at all levels. I am super pleased and for me it’s the best investment I have made on the path to acquiring my first outdoor road bike. They are brand agnostic and they truly care only about improving rider confidence, comfort and performance. Cannot recommend highly enough!

I was expecting some useful information, but the experience surpassed my expectations and I not only got the measurements for the right bike fits, I also have much more of an understanding of how it all works.It's a very interactive experience and I asked many questions and they were all answered thoroughly. I was hesitant about getting a bike fit because of the price, but definitely did not regret it as I now also have the right info to get the ideal bike for me, now and in future dates. I'm now saving up for my first proper mountain bike, the orange clockwork evo 29er, and I'm now confident about the fit and the right posture when riding thanks to foundation bike fit.I'd highly recommend going with them as they are very friendly and of course very helpful and knowledgeable. I spent an amazing afternoon with Wei at FOUNDATION bike fit - discovering a great deal about my anatomy, physical qualities and irregularities - and their inter-relationship with my bike. Subtle adjustments were made, always with explanations as to why and only retained if they resulted in beneficial sensations on the treadmill bike. I enjoyed an immediately more comfortable ride home and the follow-up report covered everything from ideal bike geometries, optional components to fit to my present bike and links to exercises to help address my own 'human' machine.I would also add two further points: 1. Wei is a really great communicator and listener 2. The toasted vegan banana bread at the cafe two doors east from Cloud 9 (Where FOUNDATION is based) makes the visit doubly worthwhile. Yum.

I went in for a new bike fit and can't recommend Wei enough. He's incredibly passionate about what he does, professional and fun at the same time too. As we stepped through the process, Wei explained along the way why he was doing what he was doing. If you're looking to improve your cycling experience, Foundation Fit in London is the place to be. Wei and Matt are exceptional – genuinely sincere and incredibly knowledgeable. I've visited twice already, and each time has been a fantastic experience. After the fitting process is complete, you have the opportunity to try out the bike at the Velopark, and I simply couldn't stop riding. The bike felt perfect. I couldn't stop smiling!

For months I’ve been battling an on going knee injury once I hit about 80k on a bike, no amount of stretching, conditional work or yoga would seem to shift this issue… and then Mat re-position my cleats in the right spot for my body! Overnight success does happen, the next day I put a 114k ride down with a sprint finish with power I didn’t know I had! If you’re experiencing any issues or pains on the bike, I can almost guarantee foundation bike fit will be able to make a remarkable difference to your power; strength and experience on a bike! Fantastic! no other words needed.The session started with me explaining the problems I was facing. Than Matt took some videos of me riding and show me to explain what I could have improved. Then we tested different settings (lower saddle, shorter handlebar, ecc.) till we found the optimal position. 100% worth the investment

I had a fit with Mat at Foundation Fit ahead of buying my first time trial bike. I was hugely impressed by how tailored the session was to my goals and how Mat was able to analyse the idiosyncrasies of my movements patterns in order to find my optimum position on the bike. The equipment Foundation Fit uses means that every element of your riding position can be adjusted during the fit. What is most impressive though is the depth of Mat’s knowledge and experience.Having seen the nuance that goes into finding the best riding position and how individual it is, I can’t imagine spending money on a bike without having a fit like this.I would strongly advise anyone planning to purchase a bike or experiencing discomfort while cycling to book a session with Foundation Fit. It is worth every penny.

I had a bike fit with Mat in Aug 2023 for a newly purchased bike. Mat was very professional from start to finish; I learnt an awful lot and had fun along the way.Mat helped me understand some historic IT band issues, with recommondations on stretches and how the bike fit can help out with this specific issue. Also from the initial assessment, he was able to pin point other areas that weren't 'quite right'; not noticeable to me riding the bike but after some time on the saddle would (and has in the past) resulted in some discomfort. The before and after videos made this extremely obvious!A new stem length was recommended, with the saddle height and position altered to my specific needs. The bike feels considerably better after multiple long rides; difference for me has been very noticeable (positively of course). I had followed up with numerous questions via email post-fit and Mat responded with extremely detailed answers; clearly put a lot of thought into it and more than happy to share his knowledge - this was very much appreciated.Great experience, would 100% return to them, and recommend.

On the recommendation of Brixton cycling club members i booked a bike fit with Matt. I had not quite expected how thorough and illuminating the 4 hours would be. Or just how many saddle choices would be offered. I definetly now know my own limitations physiologically, what to do to improve flexibility and the dreaded posterior chain (!). Matt has continued to engage with me over saddle and seat post lay back options to accomodate me and the bikes frame. Very highly recommended.

Went to Foundation for a performance fit primarily to resolve issues I have with pain and discomfort, but also to see if I can get more aero and hold that position sustainably.I race track pretty much exclusively (Track League and Vets League at HHV and Full Gas Track League at LVV) so there's not much shifting of position or resting or changing gear to alleviate any of the litany of niggles that I've accumulated over the years (old calf injury, herniated disc, various arthritic joints, persistent cramp in feet, perineal pressure, etc). I'd attempted to 'correct' some of this myself and had a previous fit elsewhere too, but the discomforts remained.Wei and Matt went through a host of off-bike assessments and set up changes and arrived at a new position, new saddle and differently supported left foot which seems to have made quite a large difference for me (in terms of cramp and perineal pressure alleviation) so in a race scenario I am more comfortable and able to stay in an aggressive position putting out power rather than wriggling about trying to stop stuff hurting.I am now hunting around for the rather longer stem and shorter cranks we found worked to enable me to fully dial in the revised position but I'm excited to be able to race more comfortably even before these are sourced, having landed on two podiums over the weekend with the new set-up.I'd be happy to recommend Foundation to riders looking to ride more comfortably - even vets with pre-existing bodily stuff going on. Now I just need to find someone who makes affordable 155mm cranks and 180mm stems.Thanks guys!

Amazing. I have been riding road bikes as fast as I can for over a decade. Despite that, the session with Mat was a revelation. If you are looking for "free watts" *and* a more comfortable ride, whatever kind of machine you ride, you will find both here. Not only that you will discover some fascinating insights about how you currently ride and how you could improve from people who are, I believe, world class experts in their field and extremely pleasant to work with to boot. In case you are wondering, I have not been paid or otherwise incentivised to write this. Its my honest opinion. I am just kicking myself I did not do this a few years ago. Really positive experience with Matt and Wei and would recommend a visit to these guys!I was originally on the fence before going due to the expense but those concerns quickly faded. I had purchased a new bike that was generally a good fit for me and the subtle changes and improvements both Wei and Matt managed to achieve was exceptional.I later purchased a smaller crank as per their suggestions and with minor tweaks on my free second follow up with them my riding experience has been revolutionised. Certainly no regrets!Additionally, what I loved about visiting Matt and Wei was their input and guidance focused on the body in parallel with the bike. Its human nature to blame your tools but they clearly articulated and demonstrated what I should be doing and improving as part of my general overall fitness and wellbeing that supports a better riding experience. Subtle but effective.Lastly, as with any bike fit experience there is the dreaded fear of having to purchase new components. I never felt pressured into buying anything but they actually helped me achieve the absolute maximum out of my current bike. What helped was experiencing the ideal setup on the test rig vs my bike with tweaks. Matt and Wei providing guidance on how to take it forward which was later fully tweaked as part of my second free follow up. I am now short crank convert!!All in all, highly recommended, go see these guys, they know their stuff and equally really lovely. Its also in the vellodrome, what more do you need 🙂

I came to Foundation as I had a bike fit before and it didn't really work for me.The first 4 hour session with Matt went through everything including my sports history, injuries and goals I want to achieve on the bike. Make not mistake: That session was tough and I was put through my paces which I thought was great!We went through lots of different set ups and realised I needed shorter cranks which I had duly installed afterwards.The location is great at the iconic Olympic Velodrome and you can test out your bike fit straight away on the outdoor cycling track. Perfect!I recently went back for my follow up appointment and we made some more tweaks to the bike set up and now I've never felt more comfortable on my road bike.Highly recommended!

Had my first Bike Fit with Foundation a few weeks ago. I do mainly endurance road riding and I was skeptical as to whether a bike fit was necessary after having watched many YouTube videos on the subject. I can definitely say that I had a very noticeable increase in comfort on the bike after the fit when I tried it out for a few laps on the track outside (included in the bike fit). Very useful to see videos of before and after adjustments on the bike and to discuss everything. Good experience all round and includes a follow up session within 3months 👍🏻👍🏻

Honestly this is so much more than I expected or could have imagined. I had my bike fit with Mat after meeting Wei at the velo on they’re open day, I had put this off for some time as I felt too beginner and almost embarrassed by my lack of knowledge however I was made to feel at complete ease, given an amazing amount information which mat made simple for me to understand and over all left feeling so much more confident as well as excited to now continue my biking journey. Mat has a lot of passion and patience which I am truly greatful for. I really can’t recommend this company enough, they are absolutely amazing!

I've had bike fittings before but this is really what I was looking for: they measure everything, and then systematically explore minor adjustments to what feels right in order to zero in on what is optimal.Mat led my session and was crystal clear in assessing my position on the bike (and off it) and explaining my options.I'm not a Tour pro or even a competitive amateur, just someone who wants to extract maximum comfort and efficiency from his bike when riding.I came away knowing there's a set of measurements, crank lengths, seat types and bikes that will work well for me.Now all I have to do is choose my new machine! I feel a lot better doing it this way than buying something I like the look of then hoping it fits. Tried that.Well done Mat and the Foundation team for providing such excellent and valuable support.

The Performance bike fit with Wei was a fantastic experience. I learnt a lot about how my physiological state (flexibility) is affecting my bike position. Wei took a very careful assessment of both my on the bike and off bike movement before making helpful recommendations on both changes to the bike and off bike flexibility exercises.Overall an excellent and detailed bike fitting, I really see the difference after the fit and keen to see how it plays out in the longer term!And bonus point: you get to test out any changes on the road circuit, not just on a stationary trainer!

If you are half serious about cycling then a bike fitting is arguably as important as your bike. Foundation Bike Fit are absolute masters at it. Spending a few hours with Wei and Matt at the stunning Olympic velopark is a hugely enjoyable experience as they’ll make dozens and dozens of adjustments and measurements whilst sharing many anecdotes and insights about cycling and triathlon. Most importantly it will also leave you considerably more comfortable on your bike - but also much faster. You’ll never regret the cost once you’ve experienced it. They are that good.

I've had the pleasure of having an ongoing bike fitting service from Wei and Mat at Foundation Fit since November 2022.My first visit was to determine my ideal geometry for a custom built bike geared towards ultra distance riding. Additionally, my existing second hand and ill-fitting bike was tuned as close as possible to my body to eliminate existing aches such as left knee pain, and saddle sores. Foundation Fit use top of the range equipment and both Mat and Wei explain their process in a very clear and informative way. You are made to feel very comfortable and part of the process.As mentioned, I had saddle sore issues and I was given a saddle to trial for a couple weeks from their extensive saddle library. Initially, Wei picked out two he thought would work well with my body. I tested these out on the trainer and opted to try one of these - It was amazing to have found a saddle just like that. After the trial, Wei fitted a brand new one on my bike and my custom build also has the same saddle.I was free to ask Wei any questions over email and every reply was comprehensive and helpful. Wei ultimately helped me with my cleat position that solved my knee issue and answered any worries I had about potentially fitting aerobars.My second fit was for the custom bike, which I had with Mat. Equally amazing, Mat helped me shift my weight to the back of the bike so I could relieve pressure off of my hands and upper body.A bike fit report is generated for me where I can reference all the measurements and notes made during a fitting. This also includes numerous photos and videos that show my riding position, foot stability, and left right balance.Overall, I would highly recommend Foundation Fit for their professional and thorough service. Mat and Wei are exceptionally friendly and personable and give you honest advice and feedback.

Wei and Matt are the Jedi's of bike fitting! I came in for an initial fit, they made subtle improvements in my position that increased my power output with same or increased comfort on long rides. I then came back for advice when shopping for a new bike which was very helpful. They are super knowledgeable, thorough, responsive, and their studio in the Velodrome has everything needed. Had two bike fits with Matt who was very attentive and knowledgeable.Besides improving the overall fit to be more comfortable some micro cleat adjustments had me putting down more power on the ride home.Nice win win.Highly recommend.*edit*Did the RideLondon 100 and next day only I felt mild DOMS (muscle aches). No real pain or soreness like I had the previous year.The first time doing 100 miles I was almost crippled on the ride home and this time round the ride was almost easy...Thanks again!

I got recommended by my cycling coach, to do my FIRST bike fit. I would highly recommend them!They are very good, they analysis everything and at the end, they send you a bike report of your fit, which had everything written down and had their recommendations.I found out the cycling shoes ( my old ones) were too small for me, as they measured my food length and width. At the end recommended me what shoe brands would suit me and my new pair are AMAZING.The follow up appointment was very good, as they made some adjustments which helped my riding posture and made me more comfortable when riding my bike.Thanks to them, I feel more connected with my bike when I am riding outdoors and on Zwift.Definitely worth every penny spent.My favourite part was that the bike rig had my exact measurements and after trying and trying loads of different saddles, I found the one for me!

My third bike fit, after changing bikes. I was unfit and felt I needed to change my position, but after careful adjustments, Wei only moved things a bit. The following weekend went for a 95km ride and wow the difference was amazing! Again thank you Wei! Amazing job!

My wife bought me a bike fit before spending a load of money on a new bike and it was brilliant.Matt is really friendly, knowledgeable and wasn't at all worried that I am not the world's greatest time triallist nor the most flexible person. The fit was incredibly comprehensive and he explains every element, so you aren't left confused at the what is going on. You leave with a world of photos, videos, exercises to do to improve your flexibility, things to watch out for and a few bikes which would fit my geometry needs.Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking at their first big bike purchase

This was my first bike fitting. Mat and Wei are friendly, super informative and gave me some great recommendations. The bike fitting process was comfortable. Had my first ride over the weekend and felt comfortable and stronger on my bike. I like it that there is a follow up session included which can help if I need something small adjusted. Overall, really happy with the service and would recommend them.

The best bike fit I've ever had - for a custom bike build. From start to finish Wei, and later Wei and his team, were incredibly kind, friendly, supportive and helpful. Best of all, Wei is incredibly knowledgeable and it is clear he really wants the best for his customers. He is happy to share this knowledge, which he does in an accessible way, and there were never any points when I felt patronised or like I had asked a silly question. Wei made me feel comfortable and put me at ease and I felt a real part of the bike fit - it felt like we were working together to figure things out and he always listened to the feedback I gave with any positions we tried. He made suggestions and was always keen to hear how I felt about positioning etc. I felt like I was in safe hands during both my first fit and refit to check everything over, and Wei went above and beyond for me try and figure out what was causing specific issues on my bike. He was also always available outside of the bike fit appointments for questions I had. I found foundation bike fit by random online searching but encouraged to book a session by word of mouth- a really fast amateur racer who has been benefitted from Wei’s expertise for over 6 years strongly recommended him in the group chat.Had a full performance fit session on my Triathlon bike with Wei and Matt. In addition to numbers and graphs, Wei focused more on how I actually felt; instead of discrete positions, Wei investigated the kinematics and took care to improve my stability and pedaling fluency. There always exists factors that aren’t trivially measurable, in which case more humane approaches shine as expertise.I have been out riding for several times after the session to really let the new pose sink in. I actually had doubts on the saddle height during the session (it felt too low), but the new setting turned out to be a big performance boost: better force exertion and hence power transfer over a larger section of each revolution, higher stability at high cadence, and for the first time I actually feel my core is engaged in each pedal stroke- much more powerful, feels amazing. Also, the higher, more upward tilted, and more widely spaced areo bar gives me a bigger room to breath while reliving my neck and shoulder pain. I almost feel like sleeping in the aero position, no kidding.Oh and Wei wrote me a detailed report that includes all the measurements, ends and goals of each adjustment, off-bike work details and stuff, with all photos and videos attached.

I cannot recommend Wei enough. I've had two bike fits with him so far and on both occasions, I've come out of it with a positive feeling.Wei is extremely knowledgeable, understanding and just an overall great person who is ready to talk to you about anything and everything bike fit related.He took into account all of my concerns, issues, riding goals and adapted my fit, while explaining the changes in detail each time to make sure I understood them. I have a much better understanding of what sort of bike I need, the setup I'll be most comfortable in and the equipment surrounding it.The detailed report at the end of the fit really makes it easy to understand every aspect of the change and contains all the measurements that I can use to setup my bike.All in all, Wei is one of the best in the business, and I'd recommend him highly.
